WI; 1967 Devaluation of the Pound.

The more I look into the cancellation of the TSR2 and CVA01 withdrawl East of Suez to a NATO role the more the 1967 devaluation of the pound from US$2.80 to US$2.40 in November 1967 looms large as a factor. Wilson spent the first 3 years of his government trying to fend off devaluation but by 1967 it had become unavoidable partly because of the 6 Day War increase in petrol prices.

WI the devaluation was different?
Could it have been done earlier, perhaps been bigger or smaller or something?
Wilson won a snap election in March 1966 increasing his majority from 4 to 96, could he have used this mandate to bring on devaluation soon after, but at a smaller rate?
