In November of 1962 the FBI foiled a Cuban orchestrated plot to use 500 kilos of explosives to blow up Macy's, Gimbel's, Bloomingdale's, several subway stations, the 42nd street bus terminal, Grand Central station, several refineries along the New Jersey shore the day after Thanksgiving. What if the plot had succeeded and the three largest department stores on earth had been blown up on the busiest shopping day of the year? Will Kennedy be forced to take act by an outraged public? Will the Soviet's stand with the Cubans and plunge the world into nuclear war if the US takes military action against the Cubans? Assuming the end of the world is avoided, will people still wear Che Guevera shirts given his importance in orchestrating the attack?

Do you know a reliable source for this event? The only person I could find making these claims is this guy:

Humberto Fontova (born 1954) is a Cuban-American author, blogger, and political commentator. Ardently anti-communist, many of his works involve correcting the record of what is the unreported and accurate point of view. Fontova is a frequent contributor to websites and has made a guest appearance on the Glenn Beck Program and Hannity and Colmes.
Robert D. Chapman, a former CIA officer who served in Cuba, wrote in a review of Exposing the Real Che Guevara in the International Journal of Intelligence and Counter Intelligence that "His information is based almost exclusively upon exile sources. Some accounts I know are true, some untrue, and others are exaggerated war fables." Writing a review of The Longest Romance in the same journal, Chapman writes that "I don't know where he obtained the many doubtful statistics he cites" and that "Fontova often presents pictures of Cuba that never.happened".
