Hi,

My first post here after being registered for more than 5 years. I've done pretty good search (or so I like to think.) If someone thinks what I am about to describe has been discussed elsewhere, please post a link and I will thank you for it.

What I've been thinking for a while now and been researching here and elsewhere is a POD of early 1936, well several of them.

POD #1 - Walther Wever does not die in 1936, instead Udet does or is crippled in a accident or is now a non-entity. Thus Goering does not give him the Curtis Hawk II. as a result JU87 program is stunted and Ural bomber takes off. I know Goering and Udet were buddies and Wever didn't have a fanclub, but let's assume he managed to convince Goering.

POD #2 - As part of #1 or as separate POD, Ribbentrop does not make Foreign minister in 1938, but someone more pragmatic does and decides to foster Ukrainian Insurgent Army and worked with the Volga Germans as well as foster other similar anti soviet movements Kazakhstan and Central Asian its neighbors. Given the famine and collectivization, let's assume those do take root. Perhaps not to a great deal to make a dent, but sow seeds of dissent in red army members. (Siberian Divisions are splintered and half hearted)

POD #3 - Last Piece of POD #1 or a Number #3, Germany has some sort of pact or non-aggression treaty with Poland and either chooses East Prussia route or in collusion with Polish leaders. (Great deal of discussion in here) Since Poland wasn't attacked, let's assume western Allies are out. (No Arctic Convoys) We can consider a better prepared finland from here, if we wish to, but I am leaving it aside.

POD #4 - Completely unrelated, Battle of Lake Khasan results in a very bloody Japanese victory (No diplomatic solution) and Zhukov takes a bullet or is killed in purges. Battle of Khalkin-Gol does not happen. So the Neutrality pact is not signed. Instead Strike North Group wins a bloody victory at Vladivostok and hold the harbor in 1936-37 after striking Oil in Daqing. This results in Soviet Eastern forces being busy. Do note I did read this one.

So my question with all this, how is Barbarossa going to play out ?

Footnote - I am aware that some of these scenarios have been discussed individually on this forum. But never together. Or my Search skills are coming up short. Yes some of these might be bit farfetched especially Strike North's success over Strike south. For my curiosity's sake, please assume it does happen. I'd like to know how it'd unfold. I am not an expert, but interested in this piece. So go easy with my Noobness. :)
