Why was Christianity semi-successful in Korea??

And you should know that simple history discussion is actually quite common on this board, for the reasons explained above. With the understanding that rigorous alternate history work is helped by discussion of actual history, what’s the problem?
How can you write a good alternate history if you are not even aware of OTL history? Understanding OTL and why it happened the way it did is a great indicator what could happen or what POD you need for certain things to happen/become likely.
The problem is the purpose of this site. I am sorry is this a History Board or an Alternate History Board? The entire Internet you are able to use to answer history questions, even other history sites. Honestly the moderators should create an entirely separate discussion section for this.

The point we've been trying to make here is that you can't have the latter without the former. Alternate history is the study of what might have been, and to get a grip on what might have been, you first need to understand what was. Refusing to let history be discussed on an alternate history forum would be like refusing to bring your calculator to a physics classroom on principle, simply because it's not a math class.

Yes, there are other places on the internet where you can also discuss history. But why is it so important that we not step on a few toes if it's relevant to our normal concerns?

At this point it looks like you are just trolling.

i remember watching a short documentary years ago about south Korean Christianity. a large part of why Christianity spread was something to do with the prosperity gospel/ theology. it was able to get such a wide conversion after the Korean war because of the influence of the Americans and the wealth they had, many Korean linked prosperity with Christianity and therefore converted. they were also proselytized toby Evangelist that pushed this prosperity gospel/ theology.

There's nothing wrong with asking a historical question like this one even if it isn't strictly counterfactual.
