Since its indepdence in 1783, the US' population has increased by 9100%, which is insane if you think about it. It is also the second biggest country in the new world, challenged only by Canada and Brazil.
That last one is what I'm disuccing here. The Federal Republic of Brazil (FRB) is actually larger in area than the continental US. It has enourmous areas of fertile or potential fertile land. If Brazil had increased in population since its indepdence at the same rate the US did, today it would have 527 million people, even accounting for the fact that it declared its indepdence 31 year after the US. Yet today it has only 207 million people. Why has world history been so unfair to Brazil in this respect?
