Who's the Greatest ATL American?

The Secret Service agent Lee Harvey Oswald who saved President Kennedy`s life by throwing himself in front of an assassin`s bullet during the attempt on his life in New Orleans in 1963. His preventing the president from being shot inadvertently stopped the United States from escalating its military actions in Vietnam by keeping Kennedy alive. Oswald later became a gun regulation activist and his work resulted in the Oswald Bill of 1970. Oswald also served 6 terms in the Senate, retiring in 2002. He has since worked tirelessly on the rebuilding of New Orleans and was a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008.

José Doroteo Arango Arámbula, better known as Pancho Villa.

Having survived an assassination attempt in July 1923, he went on to become the biggest force in Mexican politics and in 1929 he became President of the Estados Unidos Mexicanos.
Between 1929 and 1948 he and his supporters enacted many reforms and reorganisations that left Mexico the powerful American nation it is today.

He resigned on his 70th birthday (
5 June 1948) though he retained a strong influence in Mexican politics right up until his death in 1959.
