Oooh... that's tough... tossup between Henry II, Edward I, and Henry V. I'd give it to Edward (eventually) just because he probably had the longest lasting effect.

I thought it was the other way, from a map I vaguely remember from years ago of the areas of support. I.e. that the House of York had its main support in southern England and Lancaster's stronghold was in the north, including Yorkshire? [Lights touch paper and emigrates to another universe:D].

My vote is cast for Longshanks for the reason that Longshanks can call himself the King of Britain, ruler of England, Wales and Scotland while the others cannot.
 
Richard I the Lionheart is my personal favorite, followed very closely by Edward I, Edward III and Edward IV.
