who do you think? For me Sancho III, I want an Isabella like Eleanor, Raymond Berenguer IV is a patriotic choice for her I think.

I suppose it depends on how you define "best". But as someone who likes the Holy Roman Empire (even if its a pretender to the title of "Roman Empire", its still my favorite European state after the real Roman Empire, followed by England and then the Scandinavian countries), I'd vote for anyone but Barbarossa (we saw how her kids with Henry turned out - Barbarossa is going to be even more of the problem of two iron willed people clashing, as his empire is less secure than what Henry got).

But less pessimistically, Henry is a good bet. The fact that their sons blew it is their problem as much as their parents.

This is just an opinion (with no intent of convincing anyone of anything except that Eleanor was made of win and mule-like stubbornness at the same time), Isabella-like Eleanor is a neat thought though.

I will take a stand for my homeland and choose Ramon Berenguer IV. Just imagine...

The early county of Barcelona is a very interesting Medieval state. Counts to no king, vassals to no liege, hand to hand, sometimes friends, sometimes not so much, with the kings of Aragon, and with the other Catalan Counties. I wonder at what these Counts accomplished, being so small and facing so many foes. Lucky people.

I think they could create a new independent larger Duchy of Aquitaine if they married.
