I'm currently reading "The Footsteps of Illustrious Men" Victoria aar, and in an aside, there is a mention of a small movement within the Whig Party at some point named the "Whig-Federalists", who named themselves as a throwback to the original Federalists of old.
Now, how could there ever have been a Whig-Federalist Party? Bonus points if their opponent is the Democratic-Republicans. Doubly bonus if both parties end up being bisected. Triple points if it's Whig vs. Democrat vs. Republican vs. Federalist vs. Know-Nothings.
