Axis by far, say what you will about the Confederacy but it wasn't founded by a pack of megalomaniacs bent on world domination or the extermination of half the human race.

In the long run a Confederate victory is far less damaging than an Axis victory since I doubt the Confederate state would be willing to launch nerve gas at people willy nilly.

As monstrous as the Confederates were (and they were absolutely monstrous), they just wanted to exploit the black slaves and work them to death (albeit a long, slow, economically productive one). The Nazi's wanted to murder tens millions of people for no other reason than a bullshit racial ideology.

Both are dystopian and nightmarish, but one is far more so.

Axis of course. As bad as Confederacy was and its existence being likely to cause future wars between it and the USA, there is no way it would have resulted in the deaths of ~100 million people like if the Axis won.

Well... Given that there would still be black people alive by the time the Confederacy moderated or ceased to exist...

Is this even serious question?

Nazis:
- Conquer the world.
- Terminate all Jews, Romans, Slavs, blacks, etc.
- Unviable economic system.
- Destroy democracy.

CSA:
- Secede from USA, but only few expansion.
- Keep slaves.
- Unviable economy.
- Power for small white elite.

I see you didn't include Imperial Japan's aspirations.

Why do people keep thinking that the Nazis or the Axis were actually capable of taking over the world? They weren't!

Ugh, accidentally clicked Confederate victory when I meant Axis victory.

But definitely, Axis victory. While American slavery was horrendous, an Axis victory would affect the whole world, not just the American south.

Even if the Confederates win external pressure and a changing economic situation would likely have see the end of slavery in the medium term.

A Nazi win in Europe? Even if Germany falls to pieces in a couple of decades it's still going to see the virtual extermination of a sizable fraction of Europe's population and also extensive suffering and destruction.

Yeah, it's a pretty one sided choice.

Confederate Victory: the southern half of the US continues on as an independent nation until it collapses on its decrepit self after becoming an international pariah.

Axis Victory: Germany dominates the European continent and possibly a fair amount of North Africa and maybe even the Middle East. Widespread, wholesale extermination of ethnic and religious groups ensues. Japan dominates Southeast Asia and East Asia. Widespread exploitation ensues.

A Confederate victory would be really bad for slaves who lived in the American south. An Axis victory would be really bad for millions of people in dozens of different nations (including very large ones like Russia and China). So yeah, Axis victory is far worse.
