1. Socialism with Soviet Characteristics: the Soviet Union, in an alternate universe in which it has Finland ever since 1919, survived the 1990s and has gone down the China route. It has lost no territory whatsoever.
2. May Fourth, Flowers, and Friendship: Japan uses the May Fourth movement to successfully gain cred as an "anti-imperialist" force in China. Things only go from there.
3. Stop Stalin: Stalin suffers a fatal heart attack on January 1, 1945. Molotov takes charge of the Soviet Union.
4. Our Friend Fidel: The United States, inexpicably, stays friendly with Castro during the early 1960s. He returns the favor.
5. Latter Day Socialists: the US never expands west of Louisiana Territory. Mormons still go to Utah, and when socialism becomes a thing in the later 1800s, a heavily God-ified version takes Mormonland by storm.

Socialism with Soviet charasterics. I'm most interested in seeing how a command economy would fare ewith the help of automation annd digitlization of the 21st century. Also, a Russified Baltic and Finland would give Russia uncontedtable access to the Baltic Sea.

I could stand to see this, if he remains fairly lefty and socialist.

Cuba as a euro-socialist style country where Americans go for cheap holidays and non-mob gambling could be very interesting. And it has the knock-on effect of directing their efforts towards influencing the USA to soften on the lefty Latin American factions, rather than physically fighting the right-wing elements in Latin American states (or overseas).

The USA could play it up as defeating Batista, an imperialist and corrupt element.

And it also lets the USA get an in with any lefty states around the world. When they know the USA will play ball, they will pick them and their global trade and media and defence network over the USSR 4 times on 5.

Who knows where the first big nuclear brinkmanship challenge will take place. Maybe directly in Turkey over the Jupiter missiles.

My vote is for Stop Stalin, i'm interested to see how Molotov will handle the end of the Second World War, the power struggle over the Vozhd's death and the early years of the Cold War. Whether it will be better or worse than OTL.

I would actually like to see a TL, where a socialist country tries to go for the Utopia.
Communism requires integrity of the rulers that is not easily found, but the impact on culture of having one that works.....
Quite dangerous and interesting because most who claim to be the new “friendly” Fidel will be cruel dictators in the future (as most IOTL). But maybe not all?
