Pretty much what it says: I'm thinking of doing a new TL, and I'm wondering which subject would be the most popular one here. Currently, there are three subjects I'm considering, all of which I've discussed on here:

German Revolution in 1866: France intervines in the Austro-Prussian war, leading to a Liberal pan-German revolution. See this thread for some of my preliminary ideas.

Saxony united Germany: Again in Germany, but this time during the Thirty Years war. Basically, the POD is that the Saxon elector is more activist and militantly anti-Catholic than OTL, and thus accepts the original offer of the Bohemian crown in 1618 (rather than it going to Palatinate). During the opening years of the war, the Saxon/Bohemian king experiences pretty much the same run of luck the Austrians, Spanish, and Bavarians had IOTL, ultimately managing to kick the Hapsburgs out of most of Austria by the early 1620's and get himself crowned Emperor. Naturally, this pulls Spain, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and France into a mix just as fun (and just as long) as OTL, but at the end, the Protestants are in a much more dominant position, with most of Austria and all of Bohemia under their control. The HRE ceases to exist (as in, legally) and the Austro-Hungarian personal union is broken, with Hungary ultimately winding up being ruled by the Calvinist Transylvanian princes. The Saxon branch of the Wettins, now kings of Bohemia and Archdukes of Austria, make their capital at Prague and go on to slowly unite Germany through the 17th and 18th centuries.

I started an abortive TL on this a few months ago, but I'll probably completely redo it, if I do end up revisiting this subject.

Safavid survival: The Persian Safavid dynasty overcomes the crisis that IOTL wiped them out in the early 18th century, and survives past 1900. Rather than the dogged mediocrity of Persia's OTL 19th-century rulers, TTL Persia adopts European technology much earlier and manages to come through the Victorian era much better, keeping areas it lost IOTL to Afghanistan and Russia. I'm not going to have Persia aquire a colonial empire or anything though, so this will probably be the most "locally focused" TL on the list, probably not going outside the Middle East all that much. Here's a thread with some of my ideas for this.

Note that I might not be able to do this soon-due to being in between undergraduate university and grad school, I can't check out books from my campus library, normally my best place for TL research, till August.
