How familiar are you with the sixties? The deadlock of '68 would be interesting, if only it is the only of the four choices that I didn't follow on TV. You got to have some background knowledge of the subject however. Otherwise the story will go into ASB territory real fast.

It doesn't cover too much of the 60s, but I think I'm familiar enough with the time period to work with it
 
Be warned that a Trump 2012 TL (or any TL where the main POD involves Trump winning an election) is likely to run afoul of the "no politics in post-1900" rule.

my main reason for voting for the 1968 timeline, even the 2000 election is still too recent for me. It's easy even then to get bogged down in politic mudslinging. 1968 however is far enough away that both Democrats and Republicans were completely different parties and any alternate outcome could completely change how they look today.
