Everyone knows about the 27 Club. They are a group of artists who all died at the age of twenty-seven - that is, old enough that they had left a substantial body of work at the time of their passing, but young enough that the public will always wonder what they could have accomplished had they lived to see their elderly years.

But this is an alternate history forum, so I am going to ask: which of the members of the 27 Club had the most potential to continue creating commercially and/or critically successful art in their chosen field(s) had they not died so young? This is obviously subjective, as art itself is subjective, but that does not mean it is not worth discussing.

For the purposes of the poll, I am including the identifiable subjects of The 27 Club graffiti in Tel-Aviv, listed in alphabetical order.

I see that Jimi Hendrix is in the lead - why is that the case?

May have something to do with the conversation Eric Clapton is supposed to have had with Jeff Beck, while watching Hendrix perform in London "well, that's it then, we might as well pack it in now".

Has got to be Hendrix. Can you imagine the stuff he would put out in the 70s, especially after Zeppelin and heavier metal becomes mainstream?

I think he would have crafted a kick-ass supergroup while still putting out solo albums every now and then.

I first want to say the Tel Aviv graffiti of Janis is terrible. That being said

I see that Jimi Hendrix is in the lead - why is that the case?

I think he was the most popular and had shown the most of himself before dying. Therefor the most people wanted to see what else he could do, despite it might not be much more, but they hope.

I voted for Janis though. She wasn't at her peak yet. Jimi and Kurt i think were.
