Bobby's specialty was retail politics, not speechifying (tactile charisma) except for Cape Town and Indianapolis. Working with Congress would require keeping the Republicans always with him- which on domestic issues wouldn't be difficult. Nixon wasn't good on congressional relations either- he made a QPQ of extending the GS in exchange for a free hand on foreign policy, since domestic policy bored him and he didn't really have much of a stake there.

Re personality: so were Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Thatcher, who between them served 27 years as prime minister. But he was also intellectually curious, open-minded, and picked staffers with a wide variety of opinions, and there was no opinion hierarchy: if the intern has a better idea than the COS, the intern's idea flies, as his former staffers such as Edelman and Greenfield will attest. Plus he never took himself that seriously, unlike Carter, who thought I Am Always Right No Matter What The Evidence Says. There was also the softer side to his personality which few people, almost no pols saw.

Jack was a good POTUS but he didn't have legislative management skills- only Ted had those.

Ted had the legislative management down but didn't have the vision thing or executive talent. Senate Majority Leader yes, POTUS no.

I went with JFK. JPK,jr. didn't live long enough for us to really know what kind of politician he would have turnerd into. RFK would have made a good President, but I find him too conservative in some areas. Teddy I don't really think was cut out to be President. JFK thought seems like he could find the right balance to strike, so I'll go with him.

However, I may change my mind upon further information. :p

Any one of them would have ben better than the competition they faced. JFK vs Nixon. RFK vs Nixon . EMK vs Reagan. All three were bright and cared about the country. To some degree JFK was or would have been the best with the help of RFK. JFK was just coming into that confidence that most good Presidents get after two years in office. You can see that for example how Carter never really grew after his first two years, while I am no fan of Reagan he did. JFK was on his way up to going from a good President to being a great President. I still don't know what the woman problem has to do with being a good President.. If it did then we would have to judge other Presidents a lot harder. FDR comes to mind.
