Whats The Earliest The Holocaust Could've Stopped....

WITHOUT assassinating Hitler? I'm talking about before it got out of hand and claimed the lives of 6 million Jews and countless others. I can think of two situations....

1)When Jews who were fleeing Nazi Germany tried to seek asylum to either Cuba, United States, or Canada but were turned away. However, the Dominican Republic welcomed at least 100,000 Jews, but its unknown why the MS. St. Louis didn't stop there.

If they were able to come abroad, I would imagine many would follow and death toll would be much lower. That was in 1939.

2)The Vrba-Wetzler Report - In April 1944, if the report was properly distributed, it could saved Hungary's 100,000 Jews, and perhaps many more. It would've also prepared them to fight back since they would be aware of their deportation to the death camps.

Any other times?

As soon as WWII was in full range, the.. 'logical conclusions' of their antisemitic hatred and the effects of war wouled condemn the jews perhaps... so, it goes as the Nazis goes. Or dark, the nazis are left alone to fight eastward, perhaps if someone.. wiser prevail and discretely tople hitler, kick jews out...

Of note, I have seen yesterday a documentary on a dark side of pre-to-WWII France; there was camps made (the USA-canadian style ones for sino-x, italian-x, germano-x, and WWI relatives) in 38 at least earliest for the spanish refugees and republicans. A system straightened as WWII started, for communists along that Ribbentrop-Molotov pact went, german nationals, etc..

The mass refugees in france may have some surprises... :(

What about Pope Pius XII speaking out against Hitler? That is probably ASB (unfortunately ) but could have been quite impactful.

Can I get a link to that documentary please.

On topic... keep France from falling or have the Soviets do better, and you might be able to end WW2 in '43 or '44 and thus save lives.

I think the name was 'La France des Camps', but I shall try indeed to find a link...

Yeah, indeed. A stronger France or one who have held some more at least would REALLY help everyone.

French language links sorry

Simple. If Britain revoked, or never issued the White Paper, and announced that any Jewish refugees would be granted entry into Palestine.

It's not ASB either. Perhaps the USA doesn't want to take them and so pressures Britain to do away with all immigration restrictions, while many sympathetic people in Britain, including Winston Churchill and other politicians, make their voices heard louder, which persuades the British into letting them in.

Or alternatively, you can have that idea that was floated around by the US government to make Stitka, Alaska, a temporary haven for European Jews. Which is near ASB but not quite.

Prior to the war, everything that could be done had been done. In the run-up to WWII the British were giving visas to anyone who wanted one, so any Jewish person who remained in Germany did so of their own volition (most of those that did were the elderly and infirm). The problem was that most Jews who fled Germany went to Poland, Holland or France - and were trapped when the Germans overran those countries.

Really? I've never read that. What I have read is about boatloads of refugees being refused acceptance in the US, and the strong restrictions on numbers of Jews allowed to come to the US (and Canada).

It was my understanding that nowhere in the Anglosphere (at least) was willing to take many Jews. I'd love to see evidence that I was wrong for Britain.
