What Would've A "The Official Cuban Missle Crisis News and Debate Thread" Look Like?

Let's just say the Internet and this site and is (maybe?) existed during the Cuban Missle Crisis. And let's say we started a thread where everyone would talk about it. What kinds of posts would you/other people would've submitted to the thread? I'd like to see what kinds of stuff you guys would've said. :p

Haha lol. Well then I'll start.

"If we decide to move nukes away from Turkey could the USSR remove nukes from Cuba? I want an agreement between both sides because I don't think an embargo would cut it."

Didn't the American Public not know that we had nukes in Turkey? So it's likely we wouldn't either.

Fuck fuck fuck! What the fuck are you people doing on the internet?? We're all going to die at the hands of Soviet nukes! End of days! Grab your gun and go innawoods now!

Cuba is now part of Russia's sphere of influence. I told you this would happen when NATO was expanded to the borders of the socialist bloc, that expanding it into continental Europe was a mistake. But no, we had to make that provocation. We should stop pissing Moscow off, or this will end badly.

I do agree it all seems rather wrought right now, and everyone is terrified for a good reason. But there is a solution. I think both President Kennedy and First Secretary Khrushchev should come to neutral ground in Finland and hold a summit meeting hosted by Finnish President Kekkonen. I think that through eating together, having some drinks and going to the sauna with Kekkonen the two leaders of the superpowers can discuss in an environment conducive to mutually beneficial outcomes and come to an agreement that reduces tensions between the opposing political blocs and allows for a more peaceful coexistance for Washington and Moscow.

That this meeting would boost President Kekkonen's stature as an international mediator and statesman, as well as make Finland more known around the world as an independent, neutral nation that is not under the Soviet thumb would not hurt, either. But I did not say that last part aloud, for I fear that there might be a KGB-planted microphone in my office.

Those barbaric reds only understand force, especially that stupid pig Khruschkev, if you back down, they'll come for more and more. Truman backed down in China, now they're a bunch of reds. He didn't back down in Korea, now Korea is still democratic. They'll just keep going until they understand that if you hit, America hits back a thousand times harder, so we should hit now to teach them that lesson. Nuke Havana if need be, but whatever we do, the US should not back down. If Kennedy backs down now, expect Russian tanks rolling into West Berlin within a year, I guarantee it. Two years after that, into Bonn, and Paris, with Kennedy at the helm. Also, none of this would've happened if Nixon had won.
