What would the US do?

Would the USA attempt (And likely succeed) at taking over mexico's northern territories, even if the republic of texas maintains its independence and the oregon territory is organized into its own country in the absence of a mutually acceptable partioning between britain and the usa?

The yellow area is the oregon territory plus northern california, which revolted/requested admission to the territory, and the green is texas which gave a portion of its territory in exchange for american support of its southern border (since they couldn't really control the area anyway, it wasn't much of a loss). The red area is my start of delineating canada, and all of the other coloration is an artifact of the original map.

Big conference betweenMexico-Texas- & the US

Texas excepts west border of 115oW, as does US & Mexico.
Then US and Mexico negoatiate a Northern/ southern border across SW
35oN is top of [OTL] Texas hat, 45oN is [OTL] north border of California.

Depending on the relitive strengh, of Your Mexico/US and what events brought them to the negoatating table at this time, moves the border N/S.
[Past the 54-40 question, so I guess about the Civil war.]
