More likely that there will be a civil war in South Africa. English-speaking whites make up a significant proportion of the white population, and not all 'Boers' would be sympathetic to the Nazis.
I remember reading how many Boers were opposed to fighting in North Africa preferring to stay and defend their own shores should the time come. Their commitment to the Commonwealth was not to be 100% sure of, especially not one that just lost it's main industrial base (Britain) and their main economic base (India).

Most Afrikaners (not all Afrikaners are Boers and Boers is something of a mild pejorative in certain contexts) would probably have opposed the war, but a minority would have been Nazi sympathizers.

Would be interesting to see an ethnic breakdown of SA soldiers who fought in WWII (all were volunteers if I recall correctly).

No offense meant. My former in-laws were Afrikaaners and preferred Boers in the historical context. Now Dutchmen...they hated that.

The only colony Germany had even slight interest in was Cameroon, and even then it was due to historical reasons. Most likely, outside of Italian requests, Hitler would rather just make claims in Africa as a bargaining chip, rather than waste precious time and resources there that could be used in the East.
