What would e the effects on Monaco in Nice remained in Italy?

Perhaps ITTL, Italy only trades Savoy and keeps Nice, doesn't really matter just that for some reason, Nice continues to be a part of Italy. In the Congress of Vienna, Monaco regained independence from France, but as a protectorate of Sardinia. IOTL, when Nice was transferred to France, Monaco became a French protectorate, but soon declared independence, hoping for Sardinian annexation.

If Nice was to remain a part of Italy, what could be expected? Might Italy eventually annex their protectorate, or would it continue to exist in a similar manner to OTL?

I don't think this is quite correct. The Grimaldis did not want to give up Monaco's independence but the towns of Menton and Roquebrune wanted to separate from Monaco and join Sardinia, and finally were sold to France.

I imagine that if Monaco goes so does San Marino, maybe you can have a chain reaction starting with either one.

They kind of were in Sardinia between 1848 and 1860, but were sold on. I'd say in a TL where France doesn't acquire Nice, Monaco joins Italy.
