let's say the Seljuks never come into being, or are replaced by a Turkic tribe whose members / *aristocracy are predominantly Nestorian (or Assyrian, whatever) Christian. They proceed to invade and destroy the Ghaznavids, taking the western part of the territory as the Seljuks did IOTL. They then overrun the Abbasid Caliphate but keep Cairo for themselves. From there the Turks attack the Levand (held by the Fatimids) and conquer it. These new Turks probably don't invade Armenia, so the Byzantines don't get involved. They could, but let's say that they don't.

What would a Nestorian (or Orthodox) Turkish Empire ruling over mostly Muslims look like? Would they be able to force part of the Muslim population to convert? Failing that, might a good deal of the Arabs flee the Turks, and their land be populated by Turkic Christians instead?

Or would the whole empire just collapse soon after formation?
