What would a Christain Turkish empire look like?

Inspired by This thread...

let's say the Seljuks never come into being, or are replaced by a Turkic tribe whose members / *aristocracy are predominantly Nestorian (or Assyrian, whatever) Christian. They proceed to invade and destroy the Ghaznavids, taking the western part of the territory as the Seljuks did IOTL. They then overrun the Abbasid Caliphate but keep Cairo for themselves. From there the Turks attack the Levand (held by the Fatimids) and conquer it. These new Turks probably don't invade Armenia, so the Byzantines don't get involved. They could, but let's say that they don't.

What would a Nestorian (or Orthodox) Turkish Empire ruling over mostly Muslims look like? Would they be able to force part of the Muslim population to convert? Failing that, might a good deal of the Arabs flee the Turks, and their land be populated by Turkic Christians instead?

Or would the whole empire just collapse soon after formation?

Probably like the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine Empire was a Christian
Turkish empire. It was the originally the Eastern Roman Empire. It lasted until
1453. The Byzantine Empire was an ungrateful Europe's shield against the rising Islamic tide.

Last time I checked, the Byzantine Empire was a Greek empire, not Turkish. And I said that the Nestorian Turks don't invade Anatolia.

Bump... anything else?

Also, if the Turks invaded north through the Caucasus, would that have kept them more Turkish instead of adopting aspects of Islamic Persian culture?

well I'm not sure they would be nestorian, that would require the nestorians to go north of the caucaus when they actually tended to follow the southern route of the silk road (i think). Or they would have to conquer a predominately nestorian state of which there were few (though armenians and georgians follow a nestorian variant i think). Either way i think if they went christian it would probably be Orthodox as the byzantines were the primary prosetlyzers in the area.

Well as far as I know there weren't many Orthodox Turks in Central Asia. Most Christians in the area were Nestorians, which is why the Turks would probably be Nestorian. And just because traders go one way on trade routes, does not mean a conquering army will follow that route too.
