What was the German plan for the USSR?

Generalplan Ost is literally the two words I give people when they say Stalin was worse than Hitler due to the numbers of people he killed.
The Great Leap Forward is literally the four words I give people when they say GOP was worse than Communism due to the numbers of people it perhaps planned to kill.

The perhaps is there because we really cant say what a final GOP would have looked like. There were many different versions from many different ministries and on top of that Nazi policy towards Slavs was contradictory and overall pretty chaotic. The best article on this topic can be found in: Nazis and Slavs: From Racial Theory to Racist Practice by John Connelly in Central European History, Vol. 32, No. 1 (1999), pp. 1-33

The last point which even the German planners addmitted: They had NO idea from where to get all the required settlers. Germany had a population of around 75 million in 1942. Most people over 50 and under 15 are not really suited for colonization so that leaves around 40 million people between the age of 16-49 of which AT BEST 20% can be sent East. Thats 8 million available right "now" and perhaps 20% of the 20 million who are between the age of 0 and 15 = another 4 million in later years. So thats 12 million settlers between 1945-1960 for an area with 200 million people. Perhaps more because one of the architects of the GOP - Wetzel - claimed that the deportation numbers are to low because they do not take into account the population growth of these regions.

So the most likely scenario is this: From 1945-1950 the Germans really try a "hard" version of the GOP and realize that its impractical/impossible. in the 1950-1960 period they try a "soft" version of the GOP - which will still be to much. From the 1960´s onward they split up the various nationalities - every little tribe of people gets its own "state" and grant them some autonomy in exchange for resources and control - pretty much what the USSR did OTL between 1950-1990

That'd imply that the nazis were absolutely sane and never screwed up. Of course, if the pragmatists under Speer won, instead of the wackos like Himmler and Rosenberg...

People that assume that the SS will have any kind of greater influence during a Nazi victory are mistaken. The glory for victory will fall upon the Wehrmacht for the military sucess, Speer for his armaments miracle, Goebbels for his propaganda that kept the people fighting, Goering for his Luftwaffe ect ect but definitely not Himmler. By the end of 1943 the SS had a strenght of 500 000 men compared to 6 million men in the Wehrmacht so the notion that the SS will somehow become the new Heer of the German state is utterly ridiculous. In fact the 500 000 men of the SS wont be even sufficent to administre and police the East and will require help from the traditional German army to do so. On top of that all of the mentioned above like Goebbels, Goering, Speer ect despise Himmler and the SS and wont give them anything for free.

There will be competition for people, resources and money and most of the time the SS will loose these competitions because frankly the flow of resources towards Germany from the occupied regions is more important than anything else. After the war stability will be a major requirement and will soon come to resemble something like the situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, while harsh and opressive, not genocidal.

How bad would the partisan war be if the USSR collapsed and was forced beyond the Urals? I imagine the sheer number of troops necessary to protect the colonies and root out guerillas would be absurd.

After the GPO was taken to its final conclusion, I suspect the occupation army wouldn't actually be all that big since since most of the people who would have participated in the guerilla war would have been killed already.
