Late or whole Victoria era.

I want my pith helmets and pickelhaubes, dammit!

Ooh, that'd be good.

Redcoats against Russians in the Crimea, Zulus in Africa and the French everywhere. With Gatling guns.

And those black, white and yellow battleships of the 1890s battling it out with the French Fleet in 1898!

Voted Victorian, but would actually just prefer 1800-1900.

That way you have everthing from the Napoleonic Wars to the Civil War to the first truly industrial wars closing out the century.

It also makes for a cleaner transition - otherwise you have this unexplained gap between the Empires and the next game, a gap which actually covers some pretty interesting events.

I would prefer a game set in Medival times, however in a different part of the world, such as china, or india, or japan, or etc.

I see your point but I think that that time would overload computers. YOu would need a map of the entire world (Maybe you could leave out South America). And you would need to have HUGE armies especially for the endgame. I have often wondered how to make a good WW1 RTS, but we'll leave that up to the Total War guys for now.

Say it with me now, everybody: IN SPAAAAACE!!!!

I seriously think that a TW-style game set on an interplanetary scale would be really fun.

It probably would be, have you played the space scenario in Civ 4: Beyond the Sword? It's so much fun!

I've tried that, I find the system is more realistic in space. However, it takes fecking ages to do anything and my computer, being somewhat slow, takes one or two minutes to do all of the computer players' turns.
