What should i do a tl on

Anything that makes the Fedorov Avtomat the standard infantry rifle

Maybe an example is taken to Spain which then starts producing them, and this butterflies away the Spanish civil war, who knows.

I generally think people should write about what they know, and make sure that you have done enough research to ensure that what you write isn't fundamentally flawed. Maybe read a general history of the world, or a particular region or country that you find interesting, and if one particular moment presents itself to you as a fascinating event in history and your mind hums with energy then read more around the subject and write about that.

Just do a TL on whatever you'd enjoy writing the most and whatever would be the easiest for you to write. The most important aspect of a TL is that you have fun while writing it. Remember that only you can have the passion and the idea to create a good TL. Don't feel pressured by others.

Remember that a TL will start with same circumstances and issues that existed only the outcome of an event will change. As your TL progresses so too will you country, but 100 years from the POD it would be strange to have the same people in charge. That being said social economic issues of the period would still exist only your narrative on his your country deals with changes. But remember to keep people’s attitudes and ideas consistent to era you writing about.

Lastly as those have stated before me, write about what you enjoy and take the time to write it out. Then research other countries and people around the same time and see how your writing holds up. If need update it to reflect your new knowledge.

On average I write a whole year in advance of what I post and still learning new things as time goes on.
