What if Victoria lived longer?

What path would Britain take if Victoria lived longer?

We all know Victoria died in 1901, but how would history change had she lived to 1911, toward the years slowly preceding World War I? Relations with Germany would certainly have been stronger, but would she have officially made an alliance with her grandson, the German Emperor? How would that affect Europe as a whole, including Austria and Russia? IMHO, I believe that there would be a Triple Alliance between Russia, Britain and Germany against France, US and Austria-Hungary.

Scratch that. France and Russia would be aligned against Germany and Britain. Maybe I'll make a timeline for this, but I would like to see how the forum thinks about this topic.

Possible thread-jacking, but why not go the other way with it; WI Victoria died earlier? IOTL the birth of her last child, Princess Beatrice, in 1857 was quite traumatic and at one point in the birth Beatrice was breached and the royal doctors on hand felt both the mother's and child's life was in jeopardy. If things had gone wrong Victoria would have died a few years before Albert, and you'd have King Edward VII in 1857 under a regency  Plus no Beatrice means no marriage to Henry Battenberg, and thus no Queen Victoria of Spain.

Just spitballing some ideas out there for you, since it seems like you're trying to setup alliances for an alt-WWI scenario.

in 1911 Victoria would of been 91, which in the early 1900s would be like 100-110 today
It isn't too implausible to work. Plus this is to find out the consequences of her living a longer life. Obviously, she was close to Wilhelm II, being her first grandson and all...so how would you think World War I would work?

Would have been an awkward thing to have done to you. Having your grandmother declare war on you.

Didnt vote because I think Victorian Britain would have continued a more or less neutral stance. On the one hand relations to Germany would have been better, but on the other hand they wouldnt be good enough, that the Empire would have supported the leading power of the continent contrary to the politic of the last centuries.
Which side they would choose when a european war breaks finally out, would depend on the precise circumstances of the conflict.

As important as Victoria was I dont think her living longer would have changed the countries foreign policy. The Kaiser may have been a bit warmer to Britain but the government would still see a natural ally in democratic France.

Not quite, 91 would of been very old but not ridiculously exceptional for the royal classes.

And Victoria's survival would mainly just create an awkward PR headache for the government when war breaks out, it wouldn't prevent it.

Aah, but her OTL death predated the Entente Cordiale, and it was her son who was pro-French, mainly to annoy ol' Vicky, while she was very Pro-German in belief, as she maintained cultural ties with Germany, due to Hanover being ruled by the British monarch till Vicky's rule.

Its the kaiser who was the problem, not the British monarch.
Did Victoria get on with the Kaiser? It could make him friendlier towards Britain and less encouraging of pushin for a place in the sun and a big German navy....but then Germany wasn't exactly a totalitarian monarchy either.
Overall its the politicians that matter and even with the butterflies of a longer lasting Vicky they would probally go the same way.

Yes, Victoria got along very well with the Kaiser. He also happened to be her first grandchild, and was present on her deathbed.

I'm liking the poll results. It seems we are at a deadlock!
