What if two british empires

1.in this scenario, the british empre becomes so big than in OTL, with canada and west indies and Brazil in americas and congo, cape, madagaskar, east africa, south arabia, india, south east asia and australia, indonesia and philipines.

2.so it becomes very difficult for them to manage and have control, so they decide to split the empire into two large administarive zones as atlantic and indian ocean empires.

3.the atlantic ocean area is controlled by britain itself and the indian ocean territories are administered by a parallel empire
with HQ in calcutta.

4.though ondon controls both, the calcutta regime is more or less an autonomous one with all rights similar to a dominion.

5.the period is 1900 and what will happen then?

I don't think that colonies such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand, at the time, were dense enough in population statistics to be able to look after themselves without British rule.

Also, Brazil never once belonged to Britain. It was a Portuguese dominion until 1822.

I really have an interesting mental pictures of the empire on a globe, and enjoy the relation to the East and West Romes but could you specify what conditions and difficulties in control caused the split? I would think if the empire made it to the year 1900 AD then if anything the control and administration would only get easier as the yeas go by. If the split was caused by inabilities to control or rule due to populations then I'm not sure the split would benefit the empire. Still though, I like the idea and only ask for more information.

But...IOTL it was split into far more than 2 parts. Very little of the ruling was done directly from London- even in the areas that were officially ruled from there.

The way to do this would have to be quite involuntary- something takes over one side and the other decides to continue without them.
Maybe socialists take over in Britain whilst the rest rule from elsewhere. Or something like that.
