What if the Visayans convert to Islam rather than Christianity

Is it possible to have the Visayans to convert to Islam, the prehispanic Visayas and Mindanao had better relations before Islam came along and the Muslims in the south raiding the visayans made islamicization of visayas impossible, can having Islam arriving first in Visayas first can help?

I have nothing of value to add here, I'm just here to say that "Visayans" is the coolest named for an ethnic group that I've ever seen.

It seems that it needs a POD which prevents the tensions due to slave raids, and, for me, is worth discussing for, aside from the topic of religion we are in.

Come on, testing all Philippines' permutations makes, as in other fields, more questions, but the damned friars didn't let us in the first place.

It wasn't until the fall of the Malaccan sultanate to the Portuguese that Islamicisation of the region sped up. Ironically, by attempting to secure the port for trade, the Portuguese had destroyed its value as a trade post. Everyone simply packed up and dispersed, and this caused Islam to flourish. Delay the Spanish conquest or allow the Luzon sultanates to hold ground better and you may see the population turn to Islam in larger numbers from Malaccan refugees. At least, that's my take.

I think the latest POD would be having Soliman and Tarik hold against the Spanish but Splitting Tarik and Soliman up means the Northern half of Luzon remains muslim.
