What if the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center was rebuilt after 9/11?

Sure they could have rebuilt the World Trade Center as it was if they wanted. Why would they though when they could take advantage of all the developments in technology and architecture made in the previous 30 years?
I don’t think it’s likely either but if they were rebuilt it would be because of symbolism. A kid of “fuck you” too al queda.
I'd say a choice to build bigger and better than what was destroyed is more of an F.U.
Not just that, but deliberately building it at 1,776 feet is also in line with the US saying 'We're not afraid of terrorism'.
That's what I wish had been done (although with a substantially improved structural system).

What replaced it looks like it should be in Toronto though.
They should have gone with something Art Deco, blend it in as much as possible with the Empire State and Chrysler building.
Now yes no one's building that, but it would have looked good.
An modern replica? There still the debate would be too morbid or again the perfect fu, we can always build them back

My favorite proposal for a new structure at the 9/11 site was to put up replicas of the Bamiyan Buddhas.
