What if the Soviet Union was a totalitarian dictatorship with no command economy by 1980?

In this scenario the Soviet Union is a totalitarian dictatorship. It can still be communist but it must have a market economy that is not centrally planned. Furthermore the Soviet Union survived beyond 1991 and into the 3rd millennium. What do you think would have happened by 2010?

I assume this is a still, since, well... Stalin

Legit question, is that possible? Because that sounds like a lot of unregulated private property that is anticommunist at its core

Honestly the PoDs involved in getting the other stuff, it's entirely likely that we have a radically different 70s that means no Reagan or Mujahadeen and those by themselves entirely reshape our world beyond recognition

Answer: socialist market economy

I assume this is just asking for a Soviet Deng Xiaoping in only so many more words. As has been said my others, it’s a little difficult to pull this off given that the Soviet Union did not have the same benefits for international trade that the Chinese did and they are going to have a much harder time transitioning their economy to some form of a market system which gutting state institutions and throwing the entire system into chaos. This approach would have to take decades of careful striking reforms, I’d imagine.
