What if the Soviet Union Reunited Now?

How and why it would happen? Would it be exactly same nation as OTL USSR? If so, how Communists would rise to power?

Why would an bunch of non communist states who mostly despise each other unite to form one big communist state that has already failed once?

I literally can't think of anyway for this to happen except a really outlandish future history idea in my head.

I don't think everyone would join.. Or do So willingly

it's possible, would require certain measures, and an uninterested west.

but not impossible, nostalgia is big, just depends on how its branded

Watch this video, it basically answers the question of what it would be like and where its position would be on the world stage.
Uploaded 3 days ago so extremely up to date.

Simple answer, World War III, since Baltic states are NATO states.

Longer answer: If the world gets that angry over Crimea and easternmost Ukraine, I don't think they'll tolerate the whole Soviet Union being reunited. It doesn't matter if it's Putin, actual communists (self-proclaimed, former Eastern bloc communists are mostly Soviet nostalgics), they just won't tolerate it.

There's no way communists/people who want to reform the Soviet Union in all but name are going to peacefully come to power in all of those countries. Which means you need coups and if that fails, actual invasions.

Ok here is a future timeline for you.
2018: North Korean War sparks. It turns out NK had a designer plague. One billion dead, collapse of many third world governments. a regional nuclear war between India and Pakistan, another billion dead from famine and now due to hyper reactionary politics in the West NATO is dead.

OK. For the next 20 years Western governments turn inward and Russia goes through a revisionist revolution. Without NATO (or western resistance) this neo-USSR reclaims Eastern Europe with a mix of carrot and stick. Germany develops a nuclear program and sends troops to shore up Poland though meaning that the neo-USSR is further east than the original.
