Aside from a restoration of monarchy, which almost nobody wanted, I think you accurately described what would happen. The POD is fairly plausible too, if Lenin or perhaps Trotsky died in the early stages then it would fall apart and the whites would win the civil war. Then a military dictatorship would take hold, probably akin to Franco or Interwar Hungary and Poland. The population would continue growing at a tremendous rate, far surpassing other European countries, and Southern Siberia as well as parts of Central Asia would become majority east Slav. Ww2 DEFINITELY wouldn't happen as Russia would be allied with France, thereby necessitating a two front war against any German aggressor, which would never be risked. The Nazis likely wouldn't have risen to power either, rather a right wing dictator without the fanciful ideas of Hitler, but with a desire to crush Poland. Around 1950 without ww2 Russia would become the preeminent superpower, as the USA would lag in terms of both population and influence in Europe.

And this Russia might also tolerate to an extent Germany crushing Poland as Petrograd too may want borders revised in its favor.
