What if the Roman Empire collapsed due to the 3rd Century Crisis?

i mean the franks after the crisis made a navy to raid the british coast so that makes more sense sure it was for raiding but who is to say one of the raiders years or decades later says why not take this now?
No I agree that it's likely that settlement would happen to some extent at least, I was more wondering why he even made that question when he was so sure Islam would arise just based on some basic similarity between the ATL and OTL,

Oh so
Weak rome and the romans will pull out , the Saxons exist so it will happen
Logic

I don't understand then. The Himyarites which were defeated by the Quraysh was a myth? So the Himyarite wars for Kaaba didn't happen? The Kaaba didn't exist then? Why in the world did the Himyarites march into the desert for nothing then. Also, the Himyarites wrote this calling the Quaraysh as the Qedarites and Adnanites. So I guess this 'powerful clan that controlled the city descended from the Qedar' was a figment of their imagination. Where are you getting this 'centuries later?'
That is not grasping at the straws...is being sunk and thinking you are safe because you got a straw on hand

this has gone so far of course it is incredible. I think it would be important to know how the final collapse happened exactly to see in what position the different regions of the former empire were "after" the crisis

A POD four centuries before the rise of Islam could prevent it, or lead it in a very different direction if it does still emerge. Islam is no more likely to be identical to its OTL form with a second century POD than a No Inca Civil War TL would result in the emergence of a form of Mormonism identical to that of OTL.

Maybe instead of christianity coming out ontop atleast some parts could switch to Mithraism, they were seen as rivals of early christians and also had a organised "church system"

As far as I can tell, Mithraism did not have a large following outside of the Roman army.
