What if the Phoney War at the start of World War Two lasted longer?

What if the Phoney War at the start of World War Two lasted longer? If Hitler decided not to attack the West until after he defeated Russia, what would happened, would his plan work and he manage to not have a two front war or would the attack on Russia result in Britain and France attacking Germany? Who would benefit how would World War Two end and how would the World be after the war? What you think?

The Allies demolish Germany in 41-42, that was their plan and they were rearming faster than Germany was. If he decided to invade Russia first, he would not get nearly as far into Russia, and the Allies would attack as soon as they were ready

If that is the case, would Operation Unthinkable be not so unthinkable? Would World War Three [or how ever these wars are named] start immediately afterwards, and this war might see the construction of nuclear weapons. How would this war plan out, would nuclear weapons call a stalemate into action and the cold war starts from there? What would the rest of the twentieth century be like?

No: if anything it'd be less thinkable because the more Soviet-leaning French are still a powerful, independently operating voice in the Western alliance, the USA dosen't have the kind of investment in the fate of Europe to be expected to send over a land army to assist, and there is far less justification, leverage, and motivation on Stalin's part to push the historical explosion of Soviet influence into Eastern Europe. Not to mention the logistical headache of operating a land campaign against a poorly reconed and studied Red Army across a hostile Germany. Even if there's still a growing sense of the "Red Menace", so long as Stalin is circling the wagons and self-strengthening in his Socialism in One Country policy, Western Europe seems likely to prefer bolstering their domestic situation/accomidating the Facist-not-Nazi states into the broader geopolitical framework while co-operating to contain any situation where the Commies try to make a power grab.

Even Hitler wasn't daft enough to attack the USSR with a fully armed and mobilised France in his rear. His entire plan centred around taking out France before hitting Russia so as to avoid the two front war that cost Germany so dear in WW1.

No, either the USSR is still barely beyond prewar borders and well contained if they sit it out, or the USSR is slightly further west in Germany, Slovakia and Poland but has just took the brunt of fighting Germany. In either case the situation is not much worse for Western Europe than prewar. Nobody is going to start a war that cannot be easily won in the UK or France at this time unless they see no other choice

Jesus Christ, what's with this obsession with Operation Unthinkable? It was called "Unthinkable" FOR A FUCKING REASON! It succeeding is imho more ASB than Sealion. So, for God's sake, leave it alone!

If there is no nuclear weapons it wouldn't be that "unthinkable".
Yes, it would. The only way to win historically was to nuke everything, even with full US military support. There is no way that the French and British on their own could take on the USSR conventionally. Thus, unthinkable.

If Western Allies classify the idea of the Red Army pushing to the Rhine and beyond as 'Thinkable' then sure, it is less unthinkable.
