As we all know the M1 garand was a semi-automatic rifle that used 8 rounds of 30 cal ammo. It gave the Allies a huge advantage over the slower bolt action rifle of the axis.
However, after some reserach I discovered the M1 Garand was originally designed to be used with 10 rounds of .267 Pederson.
I believe that having an extra 2 rounds of ammunition in what was already a semi-automatic ammo would have been immensely helpful, despite being a lighter round.
If I was in ww2, I would have rather have a larger ammo capacity than a heavier round.
What do you guys think?
