John Howard is a politician that defied his critics. Elected and re-elected into office four times despite all the criticism and divisiveness towards his socially conservative agenda - Howard has survived introducing the GST, the children overboard and the stolen generations until being ousted by a young demographic during rising inflation, more attention to global warming and the ennui of the Iraq war, who gave the prime ministership to Kevin Rudd of the ALP.
My question is, what if Howard won in 2007? First of all, how would he have been able to do it? Would he have retired in 2004 and give the leadership to Peter Costello? And, how would the Liberals responded to the global finacial crisis, the U.S. election and global warming?
