What if the German Empire was exiled to one of their African colonies?

Were you thinking of a Napoleon-to-St Helena parallel, or the government decamps to Africa to keep fighting the War?

I was thinking more of the government decamp to Africa but the first option seems waaay more plausible than what I was originally thinking.

Of the two, which are both on the unlikely side of possible, the second is definitely more plausible. I have no idea if it was ever considered, but the war situation for Germany is such that by the time the Kaiser would consider decamping, it would be impossible (naval route out of the question and lack of African territory to go to).

Heh, yeah, I was thinking about that as I was creating my scenario

What is the outline for your scenario? Germany only had two very small colonies in Africa and they were mostly overrun and cut off from the home land. In any event that Germany is overrun, the colonies would likely already be captured.

I was originally thinking that somehow, the colonies survived or were given back to Germany, however, it was very unlikely. I later proposed that Germany could release the colonies but secretly still control it unknown to the public.

Maybe a shorter WWI where Germany brings France down quickly (somehow?) and they make significant colonial gains from France, peace out with the British and secure an Empire only to be smashed down later by... Russia?

Maybe if South West Africa have seen greater German settlement (maybe a POD where Germany also get Walvis Bay in the Zanzibar-Helgoland trade). Let's say that South West are home to 100-150.000 Germans, they last longer than in OTL against the South Africans, so the South Africa gives up on annexing South West, and it's just occupied with the civil German authorities staying in place. As Germany remove the emperor and establish, South West Africa declare independence from Germany as the Kingdom of Namibland (or something else) the local governor declare himself regent. While the Namib government wish for the emperor to come to come to Namibland, the allies ensure that he stays in the Netherlands. The former German crown prince do travel to Namibland and becomes regent for his father. In the interbellum Namibland get a steady influx of German royalists, and after the Nazi takeover it gain a large number of refugees. Namibland open itself to Jewish Germans fleeing Germany. So by 1939 the German population have increased to 700.000 of which 250.000 was Jews and 200-250.000 are pre WWI colonists and their children.
