What If "The Emerging Democratic Majority"

A Democratic coalition like that probably wouldn't stay an overwhelming majority for long. One or more of its constituencies would have a large incentive to defect to the republicans (or at least threaten to) and the republicans would be willing to change their stance on one or more issues to get back into power again.

The Democrats could also fracture into two parties, similar political shifts have occurred. The status quo is naturally the yardstick for what's considered normal or plausible, but it's really strange to have someone like Alexandria Occasio Cortez and someone like Cory Booker in the same political party. The more progressive and social-democratic faction might become a separate wing from the New Democrat and Blue Dog parts of the party.

Winning political majorities fracture and form a new political spectrum once they become dominant, this seems analogous to predicting an emerging Democratic-Republican majority after the Federalists' defeat.

My apologies I am not trying to sound like Obama was a bad president . . .
Thank you, but no apology necessary. :) I like mixing it up a little, and I certainly agree that he made his mistakes.

I wish President Obama had taken a page from FDR and the New Deal. It’s something which worked, and something which we like and are familiar with. For example, during his Inaugural Address, Pres. Obama could have said, we did this during the Great Depression, and as you know it worked out pretty well, and by God, we’re going to do it again.
