What if the British government's fear of a communist rising during World War Two actually happened?

Read that the British government closed Home Guard training schools run by ex Republican Spain army officials due to fear to fear of a communist rising. What if this fear was more realistic? What if this happen? How would a communist takeover in Britain affect the war? Would they seek for peace or fight on? How would Nationalist Spain react with Republican Spain helping takeover? Would they join the war on the side of the Axis? How would this affect the war? Would this create a better relationship between Britain and the Soviet Union? How would it affect America? Would they still enter the war? What about British colonies, there would most likely use it to break away from Britain, presumably places like Canada and Australia would be supported by America? Perhaps a three way war between America and former British colonies, communist nations, and fascist ones. What about Ireland, would it be enough so they would join the Axis? What about the cold war and the decolonization of other nations? Might they attempt to break away during the war? Perhaps joining the Axis? What you think?

The only changes I would expect if Britain suddenly came under the discipline of Moscow, would be an acceleration of the transfer of all Tubealloy and turbojet technology to USSR, and a premature suicidal second front to take pressure off in the east. Probably an increase in lend-lease from the US.

There is no chance of this happening. Anyone who tried to use the Home Guard to start a revolution would easily be crushed. To begin with, any plot to do this would be uncovered early on. But of course there was no such plot. The CPGB would be crazy to try something like this in 1939-41. (And of course after June 22, 1941 the party line was full support for Churchill...)

It is true that some people behind the movement for what would become the Home Guard were left-wingers. But they were mainly people like Tom Wintringham https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Wintringham who had broken with the CPGB precisely over its abandonment of anti-fascism after the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.
