Germany might try to complain, sure, but Soviet resources were more important to them than three tiny nations, ones they were planning to retake anyway once they backstabbed the USSR.my question has always been if M-R Pact between Germany and USSR did not deal with Finland and Baltics, Germans had built pretty nice trading bloc for themselves (including Poland also) but dealt it away.

not really sure if Soviets would have signed deal that didn't "assign" them the Baltics? maybe, Lithuania was "given" to Germany at one stage?
as far as the three banding together to fight off Soviets? well ... they did not do that to resist Poland's ultimatum to Lithuania in 1938, and that would be considered a much lesser threat than USSR.
