LONDON, 1946
The crowd watched in horror as the union jack was lowered from the top of parliament. WW2 had been going badly for the allies from the start. First, the evacuation from Dunkirk had been stopped by relentless Luftwaffe assaults. Only 70 000 British, French, and Belgian troops had been evacuated. Then, the Japanese launched a surprise attack and captured India. And to top matters off, the Italians had captured all of north Africa. But Britain and her Commonwealth fought on. But the last straw had come a week ago, when Germany's panzers rolled into Moscow. Churchill's surrender speech had come barely a day after that. The Germans landed on the shores of Britain, where they advanced up the isles. Things were looking dismal for the allies, But across the ocean, the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil and New Zealand fought on.
I would appreciate input on what should come next! What do you think will happen?
