What if the Allies or Dutch used interned German ships

What if, instead of seizing the Dutch merchant fleet [or just use them temporarily], suggested that the Dutch purchase the German merchant ships in Antwerp or the Dutch East Indies and turn them over to the Allies?
Granted, these are Dutch ships when they're seized, but if they're under German control before until 1918, the Dutch can turn them over to the Allies and get their impounded ships back. Or the Dutch just purchase and use the German shipsif this is impossible.

Huh? In 1918, the Germans had some 30 [or35] something merchant ships in the Dutch East Indies and about a similar number in Antwerp. If the Allies suggested that the Dutch purchase and use them or turn them over to the Allies and get back their requestioned merchant ships, how would this affect history and the Dutch merchant trade?

Well, if the Dutch had German permission, which would be needed, turning the purchased German ships to the Allies is impossible, but what about using them while their ships were requestioned for US or UK use?

I believe that in 1914 in New York there was much talk of the Germans selling some of their trapped liners to American firms. The Entente, if I recall correctly, declared that they would not recognise these sales and that the ships would be treated as German if encountered at sea. That pretty much ended the sales talks.

But, if the transfer of German ships to the Dutch was the initiative of the Dutch and with German permission, would the British allow? Of course, they can use reverse law of angary and German u boat attacks and actions in Belgium or Netherlands to seize them and turn them to the Allies, especially if they think they can get their requestioned ships back, but Germany's going to invade Netherlands if they did, so it is impossible. Of course, if the Dutch did, there is a thread about Netherlands being invaded in April 1918 by Germany, which is pretty much the expected consequences of such an action.
