Temple Houston is a 1963–1964 NBC television series considered "the first attempt ... to produce an hour-long western series with the main character being an attorney in the formal sense." Temple Houston was the only program which Jack Webb sold to a network during his ten months as the head of production at Warner Bros. Television. It was also the lone series in which actor Jeffrey Hunter played a regular part. The series' supporting cast features Jack Elam and Chubby Johnson.

On July 17, 1963, NBC however decided not to cancel The Robert Taylor Show, as Four Star and NBC will ask permission from the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, so it could free up to start on September 19, at 7:30 p.m.

On October, Robert Taylor was picked up for a full 26-episode season and let ABC to want 100 Grand to be a hit and wanted NBC to pick up Redigo for a full 26-episode season also, making the primetime editions of the hit daytime game You Don't Say! and Merv Griffin's new game show project Jeopardy! (the daytime version started on spring, the regular primetime version will soon to start this fall) to be entries of the 1964-65 season as "In Development" projects alongside Solo (now The Man from U.N.C.L.E.), Temple Houston and Daniel Boone.

On the March of 1964, NBC announced that they will cancel Robert Taylor. Indeed, Temple Houston was placed on the Saturday night 7:30 p.m. time slot beginning the fall of 1964.

Fully ITTL, IOTL, The Robert Taylor Show cancelled on July 17, 1963, followed by a series of cancellations including 100 Grand and Redigo, the primetime version of You Don't Say started on January 1964, Temple Houston started September 19, 1963 instead of Robert Taylor, the primetime edition of Jeopardy! never happened and two new shows Flipper and The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo happened on the Saturday night 7:30 p.m. time slot starting in the fall of 1964.
