What if Sigurd Jonsson became King of Norway?

During the two interregnums of the Kalmar Union from the 1439-1449, first when Erik of Pommern lost his throne in both Sweden and Norway, and then when Christopher of Bavaria the Kings power in Sweden and Norway was shaky. At those times, the Norwegian Riksråd (National Council) who then held almost all power in Norway wanted Sigurd Jonsson to take the throne, both times, due to his Yngling/House of Sverre ancestors dating back to Håkon V of Norway through both of his daughters.

IOTL he refused and rather ruled the country on behalf of the Danish king. What if he decided to rather take the throne? With the support of the Rigsråd and hopefully the Archbishop of Trondheim he litterarly controlled almost all power in Norway. Could there have been a peaceful transition without any conflict between Norway and Denmark? Could he be elected King of Denmark and jointly rule the both kingdoms, but rather from Norway? If the Danes and Norwegians ally against the rising tide that is Sweden, would they be better off as they could easier administrate their own Kingdoms?
Remember that Swedens rise did not really begin until late 16th century too the start of the 17th century.
Or would the Swedes and Norwegians fight together against the danes, seeing as Sigurd Jonsson is partly Swedish too? How would Norway prosper as its exports grow rapidly during the 16th through too the 18th century as it did IOTL or would they at all?

Feel free to discuss how thing could have fared :D
