Let's say its May 2014, the Crimean peninsula has voted to join Russia and the Donbass elections showed the majority of people wanting to join Russian Federation. In Odessa, a large clash breaks out with anti-Maidan Ukrainians being attacked and some even killed. As a result, Russian president Vladimir Putin uses this justification as reason to intervene in Ukraine to "restore its political instability" similarly to the Russo-Georgian war situation and so the Russian army is mobilized to invade the northern part of Ukraine and assist the Donetsk and Lugansk militia in the south. With the reports of the Russian troops crossing the border and planes into Ukrainian airspace, what is the result? How does the west respond to it and what is the fate of Ukraine? Does it split in half with more of it's regions joining Russia or it keeps all of it's land with a pro-Russian government? Keep in mind, this is around the same time where the 2014 Ukrainian elections are also being held.
