What if: Nintendo launched the Switch instead of Wii U and 3DS?

What if instead of developing the Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo used the resources for both to develop the Nintendo Switch, releasing it between the Wii U's launch date and the PS4/Xbox One's release date a year later? All of the 3DS games from 2011 go to the 3DS. Nintendo stops supporting the DS around the start of 2012.

Would it be technologically feasible, even if it costs more than the Wii U? Could they use cartridges? How big of an impact would having all of a Nintendo's undivided resources thrown at it, instead of dividing them between two systems?

While I am of the belief that the Switch will sell better than the Wii U and will be a good system to some extent, I'm certain that the switch might still face an uphill battle with two consoles that might have bigger specs than the Switch. And besides we have no idea how exactly the Switch will perform objectively in the market IOTL.

So, sorta like the GameCube?

The Main issue is the tech is still maturing...and i'm not refering to the joy-cons, but the tech for the continous semi asymetrical switch between screens, the plug and play nature among the pure raw power of the console...

If they push it would be roughly power but more limited, like a more restrained plug and play, closer to the level of ps3 rather the missing link between PS360 and PSone among others.

And the main issue..price? would still be sold at $300 even not couting or counting alternate joycons? still i think would be possible but far different we're getting currently.

If we did see a premature Switch, I would imagine it being stronger than the 3DS but weaker than the Wii U in terms in power, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it might not be able to handle certain games (like BOTW).

Yeah, i can imagien some late PS360 games and all vita games in this switch, the rest is too different to handled, i can imagine Xenoblade X but not BOTW or other games. Well the rest is just to say how fare, i think at 3ds levels after price drops...
