What if Mr. Barnes had challenged the Duke of Windsor to a duel??

I remember from the Channel 4 program from the mid 1990s "Edward the traitor King", that there is segment of that program which deals with that during a trip to Kenya in the late 1920s Edward according to the program seduced the wife of the local Commissioner Mr. Barnes. What if this Barnes had discovered this and challenged Edward to a gentleman duel? And if this duel had resulted in Mr. Barnes shooting and killing Edward?
What influence would this have had on the UK in the 1930s and possibly WW2?

It's very unlikely, duelling was extremely antiquated and very illegal. Mr Barnes would obviously be hanged, but a sigh of relief would be heard around Whitehall. The troublesome playboy was dead, and the time had come to start talking Bertie into having those elocution lessons.

But with no Edward to sell his countries secret to Hitler...Imagine how the battle of France could have played out differently...

What secrets did the Duck of Windsor sell to the Nazis. I imagine the only information he was privy to was where the tea money was kept.
