What if Louis xiii died young?

So, Louis xiii was the main man responsible for the completion of the absolutist monarchy's foundations in France. If he had died young and before he'd had any children, what might France look like under one of his brothers? Nicholas Henri or Gaston? Otl gaston was marri d to the duchess of monstpier and inherited quite the fortune and was also quite the trouble maker. If he is the new king would he marry his otl wife? Or if his brother died before consummating his marriage to anne of Austria would he marry her? If he is king from a young age what does this do for his personality and the monarchy?

As for Nicholas henri similar questions but under the guise of him being perhaps a keen administrator.

Having one king be assassinated and then his son and successor dying young won't be great for stability. I can't see a King Gaston going for a domestic marriage- it'd be wasteful diplomatically (though of course he went through with his marriage to his second wife IOTL despite the political consequences, so...).

With regards to Anne- she's 7 years older than him and if she's already been married to Louis that adds a further complication (it didn't turn out great when a certain English king married his brother's widow and a woman 7 years older than him). Depends what relations are like with Spain at the time/who is in charge of the regency etc.

If Louis dies before wedding Anne, her slightly more age-appropriate younger sister Maria Anna is around, but Maria Anna might already be earmarked for marriage to her Imperial Habsburg cousins (she married Ferdinand III IOTL).

Alright interesting, is it possible that they'd substitute one sister for another especially before the wedding, so as to prevent any sort of diplomatic scuffling? Perhaps Anna can marry Ferdinand.

Probably not. Since Ferdinand would be even younger than Gaston (born in 1608). Before Anna married Louis, there had been an attempt to marry her from Wladyslaw IV of Poland. Which makes me think that they'll either send her off to Warsaw or to marry Ferdinand II, rather than his son.

Alright that is true.

In which case, who might Gaston himself marry? Or his brother Nicholas Henri, should he be the one surviving in this case?
