What if James Cook was never born? Would this mean that British exploration into Oceania takes longer? Was James Cook that essential, or would someone else just take his place? If Britain took longer or maybe never went to Oceania, what would happened? Would the Dutch take Australia, or the French, would be it be spilt between the Dutch and French, or the Dutch and British, or maybe the French and British, or would there be a three way spilt between them? If France did get a cut would this bring the Napoleonic wars to Australia, would the direction of the wars be changed due to excess supplies being needed in Australia? What would Australia, and New Zealand and the rest of Oceania for that matter, look like? Would Australia unite with some hybrid British-French-Dutch culture? IDK, what do you think?
