The communist party of indonesia is the third largest communist party in the world, with almost three million member and almost twenty million sympathizers, so the question is if somehow the communist party is able to either overthrow or become the ruling party in Indonesia, what would happen next, both for Indonesia and the international community

The communist party of Indonesia was actually a supporting member of Sukarno's government.
Is Sukarno still around as ruler of communist Indonesia or someone else? Although Sukarno leaned heavily towards the Soviets, he still had an independent streak. But if it is someone else, someone with stronger Soviet sympathies, the Soviets would have access to the naval bases of Indonesia. Lots of butterfly effect:
1) the newly-independent nations of Singapore and Malaysia, as well as Brunei, may face longer-lasting communist insurgencies
2) The newly surging Japanese economy would be at the mercy of its oil supply under a chokehold at the Malacca Straits
3) USSR bases in Indonesia means a bigger US presence in Northern Australia; conscription in Australia may last a lot longer.
When is the PoD? Is it going to be in the '20s when the Communists were the main anti-colonialist force? Their failed uprising broke them as a party - their place soon taken over by the Nationalists - and radicalised the colonial government. If the PoD is in 1945 there is a chance that the US is going to support the Dutch like they did with the French in Vietnam and that could very well mean a escalation - or at least extension - of the independence war.
Actually until the September massacre, the communist party of Indonesia has a lot of influence in the government, especially because the close relationship between D.N aidit and soekarno
As HJ Tulip posted if this happens in the immediate aftermath of World War Two then there's a good chance that the Dutch are going to receive support to continue their presence, or at least achieve a withdrawal more to their liking. If it's during the Cold War then I could see the US funding various separatists movements e.g. Papua and West Papua, Maluku islands, Sulawesi island, Aceh etc.
